HSK Levels

HSK Level 1 

Recommend class hours

30-60hrs

 

Elementary level covering 150 words and 45 language points required by the HSK Level 1 test. Upon finishing this level students will be able to understand and use a few simple Chinese words and sentences to meet their specific needs in communication and to prepare themselves for further learning

HSK Level 2

Recommend class hours

30-60hrs

 

Elementary level covering 300 words (levels 1 and 2) and language points required by the HSK Level 2 test. Upon finishing this level students will be able to understand and use a few simple Chinese words and sentences to meet their specific needs in communication and to prepare themselves for further learning

HSK Level 3

Recommend class hours

40-60hrs

 

Elementary level covering 600 words and language points required by the HSK Level 3 test. Upon finishing this level, students will be able to pass the HSK Level 3 test and their Chinese proficiency will reach the corresponding level.

HSK Level 4

Recommend class hours

80-120hrs

 

Intermediate level covering 600 words (in addition to prior levels) and 100 language points and 20 groups of confusable phrases required by the HSK Level 4 test. Upon finishing this level, students will be able to make conversations on a wide range of topics in Chinese and fluently communicate with native Chinese speakers.

HSK Level 5

Recommend class hours

120-180hrs

 

Advanced level covering 2400 words (in addition to prior levels) and 110 language points and 36 groups of confusable phrases required by the HSK Level 5 test. Upon finishing this level, students will be able to make conversations on a wide range of topics in Chinese and fluently communicate with native Chinese speakers.

HSK Level 6

Recommend class hours

180-240hrs

 

Advanced level covering 2600 words (in addition to prior levels) and 120 language points and 40 groups of confusable phrases required by the HSK Level 6 test. Upon finishing this level, students will be able to make conversations on a wide range of topics in Chinese and fluently communicate with native Chinese speakers.
